Fresh Free Range Egg White

Eggs are known for their high protein content. The protein in eggs contains all the essential amino acids that the human body requires. Approximately 12.5% of the weight of an egg is protein and 74% of it is water. They contain most of the known vitamins, apart from vitamin C, and they are also rich in minerals, such as selenium and zinc.

Chickens (Gallus gallus domesticus) are thought to have descended from the wild red and grey junglefowl of India (Gallus gallus and Gallus sonneratii). They have been domesticated for approximately 4,000 years and commercial egg production first became popular in the 1800's. Our free-range eggs come from small flocks kept on family run farms, where the welfare standards and conditions exceed those required. Our suppliers are approved and monitored by the Vegetarian Society, RSPCA, Freedom Food and the Organic Food Federation. Eggs have been used as a hair-strengthening folk remedy for centuries. Egg shampoos were once very fashionable, though many of them didn’t actually contain any eggs! We use free-range eggs in our hair treatments and shampoos as the eggs form a protective and conditioning coating on the hair. The protein content of the eggs adds lustrous shine to the hair and helps increase its tensile strength. The vitamin D content can help to promote new hair growth. We also use eggs in our fresh face masks, as the vitamin A in the free-range eggs helps to maintain healthy skin by regulating its natural sebum production.
