Honeysuckle and Rose Petal Infusion

Floral and delicate

Honeysuckle and rose petals make a fantastic, floral infusion with an aroma that's both sweet and delicate. Rose petals are said to be astringent and gently tone the skin whilst honeysuckle flowers are antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, which is why we use them in our products to condition, soothe, and give their full-bodied scent.

Roses are grown all over the globe. They are native to the temperate regions of Northern hemisphere, primarily to Asia, with some species being native to Northwest Africa, Europe and Northern America. Honeysuckle flower (Lonicera japonica) is also known as Japanese honeysuckle and jin yin hua. It is an evergreen climbing shrub, native to Eastern Asia and naturalised in Australia and the US. In summer, the fragrant white flowers are followed by poisonous black berries. The honeysuckle flowers are collected in the morning, before they open, and dried for infusions and decoctions. Honeysuckle flowers are rich in salicylic acid; they are considered antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic. Medicinally, honeysuckle flowers are used internally to treat respiratory and throat infections, boils and nettle rash; externally, they are used on skin inflammations, infectious rashes and sores. Chinese herbalists cleanse and remove poisons from the body with honeysuckle flowers. Folklore suggests that, if you wear honeysuckle flowers, you might dream of your true love.
