Pinus sylvestris is an evergreen tree native to the Eurasian continent also known as forest pine, Norway pine and Scotch pine. It's needles are long and blue-green and produce a pale yellow oil with a wonderful fresh aroma. Cypress oil, from the Italian cypress tree is similarly evergreen in fragrance. We combine them together in an infusion to calm and tone both the skin and mind.
Cypress oil is used in aromatherapy for its calming properties whereas pine needles are known to clear the mind and contain antiseptic qualities. In an infusion, they produce a beautiful scent that transports the mind to Finnish saunas and thick, abundant woodlands.
