Description
The Liquidambar styraciflua, also known as American sweetgum, is renowned for its gorgeous autumnal foliage, painting landscapes with bright orange, red, and purple hues. Beneath the bark of the tree flows a precious resin, also called liquid amber, which can be extracted from the tree and eventually distilled to obtain the fragrant styrax oil.
