In Aztec times, chocolate was regarded as one of the most valuable currencies, while the Mayans saw it as a gift from the gods. White chocolate has only been around since 1930 (when it was invented in Switzerland) and chocolate buttons since 1960. Buttons are made very simply by dripping melted chocolate on a tray, then waiting for it to cool and harden.
