Witch Hazel and Chrysanthemum Infusion

Anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, soothing and toning

Witch hazel extract, dried cleavers herbs and chrysanthemums are added into hot water to make an infusion that forms the base of the gentle solid deodorant, Sunflower.

Description Cleavers has traditionally been used in folk medicine to treat skin disorders, and is considered beneficial in the treatment of wounds, ulcers, and rashes because of its detoxifying qualities. The plant contains organic acids, flavonoids, tannins, fatty acids, glycoside asperuloside, gallotannic acid and citric acid. Cleavers is used by herbalists for ulcers, skin inflammations, minor injuries, seborrhoea, eczema and psoriasis. We use cleavers for its deodorising benefits. Cleavers (Galium aparine, goosegrass, stickyweed, sticky Willy) is a climbing garden and hedgerow weed found in Europe and Asia. It is best known for its habit of sticking to anything that it touches with tenacious little hooks. Cleavers belongs to the same family (Rubiacea) as the coffee plant, which explains why its seeds make a good coffee substitute. It is edible when cooked and used as a vegetable in China. Witch hazel extract is used in products to tone the skin, and for its unique ability to leave the skin matte and dry without stripping the skin of its moisture. It also has a cooling effect that leaves you feeling fresh and soothed. It is also an excellent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial and antimicrobial ingredient. Our witch hazel extract is distilled from the twigs and bark of the witch hazel. Our witch hazel extract is sourced from France. The national flower of Japan, chrysanthemums bloom in reds, oranges, whites and yellows. They are renowned for their benefits to the skin both externally and internally, supporting healthy moisture content, soreness and redness. Chrysanthemum indicum is a hardy perennial which grows to 0.6m. It is commonly used in traditional Japanese herbal treatments.
