Cypress oil is almost colorless and has a fresh woody aroma which we use as part of perfume blends. We use it in body and hair products for its astringent and toning qualities. Aromatherapists believe it can be calming during times of emotional stress, making it a wonderful ingredient in bath products as well.
Cypress trees are tall, reaching heights of 140 feet, with small flowers and brownish-grey cones. The oil is obtained from the leaves and cones of the tree by steam distillation.
